Our Sustainability Strategy

We’re committed to embedding sustainability across our services, communications and daily operations to create lasting positive outcomes for nature, people, and the planet.

Our Commitment

At 4 Elements, we deliver high-quality environmental services that meet regulatory requirements and best practice standards, without compromising on sustainability.

Our goal is to reduce our risks of contributing to global environmental degradation and to lead by example through responsible business practices.

That’s why we’ve developed a Sustainability Strategy to guide our actions and measure our progress towards a more sustainable future.

Sustainability Strategy 2025

Our strategy builds on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and reaffirms our role as a signatory to the UN Global Compact – the world’s largest sustainability initiative.

Inside the report:

  • Company-wide SWOT and risk assessment of sustainability as of 2025
  • Transition plan built using GreenKPI and Sumday sustainability software
  • Formal sustainability pledge
  • Defined objectives, targets and KPIs to measure impact based on UN Global Compact and ESG reporting guidelines

Together, these tools create a framework for accountability, continuous improvement, and genuine environmental leadership.

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

Key Pillars

Our strategy focuses on three key pillars that reflect where we can make the most impact. We’ve set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound) to each pillar, that will ensure accountability and transparency in our sustainability journey.

Emissions

  • Improving energy efficiency across offices and projects
  • Striving towards Net Zero
  • Measuring and reporting emissions
  • Offsetting unavoidable emissions through certified programs

Waste & Pollution

  • Reducing waste across operations
  • Integrating improved recycling and circular economy practices
  • Safely managing and disposing of hazardous materials

First Nations Support

  • Outreach to develop new, meaningful partnerships with Indigenous and First Nations organisations
  • Incorporating Indigenous species and place names into our reporting
  • Providing cultural competence training for all staff

These pillars were identified through an internal review of our current environmental and social impacts, ensuring our strategy is targeted and effective.
